Let's be honest, shall we. Am I the only one getting really sick of everything being about politics? It's all you here at school. Two of my classes have me writing about it. My statistics teacher tries to influence our vote by constantly dropping Obama into the lectures. Yes, I mostly agree with John McCain's policies, that is who I've voted for. With early voting the lead up to 'Election Day' just isn't there for me. Now it's just a wait and see. Now that I've already voted I don't really care what one candidate has to say about the other. I made my choice, voted, and can't change my mind now. Maybe the adrenaline is gone, depleted. I'm so ready to go back to regular studies. I don't mind writing about common things (i.e., writing styles, why it's windy in Chicago? hell even the Boxers or Briefs debate would be more interesting to me). It's hard to pick a class of 20 students and say write about this. What if out of those 20 students half couldn't care less about politics? Those 10 students aren't going to have very good grades because they don't have the 'passion' and it will be reflected in their writings. I didn't go to school to learn about political issues, I'll leave that to my husband. I don't care if someone thinks I'm complaining and snippy... I'M SICK TO DEATH OF POLITICS! If I truly cared too much about the 'issues' I would be a political science major (I'm NOT!). I'm an education major with a minor (through a different school) in geology. I'm just really upset; I just can't get passionate about (obviously) someone else's passion. It doesn't really matter to me who is elected, either one will be better then what we have now. Seriously, let's hear it for all of us who just don't want to hear Obama, McCain, Acorn, Mickey Mouse, Biden, or Gawd Forbid the Gawd Awful M.I.L.F. for V.P. t-shirts I've seen around school. SIGH!
Even a few years ago I don't think my reason for not voting for Barack Obama would be a good one. As I've gotten older though I've realized that my political views have turned more conservative. I can not vote for Barack Obama because of his stand on abortion. I can not vote for anyone who does not believe that abortion is morally wrong. I'm not a bible thumping Christian, so that isn't the reason. Actually I'm not a Christian at all, but I do believe that everything is given life for a reason. After having two children of my own I honestly believe that life starts at conception. I remember the feeling of joy and the flutters I felt. There is no one who could tell me that I wasn't carrying a live person. Especially with those 3am soccer kicks. Ouch!
Barack Obama has many interesting views that I believe would be beneficial to explore. It really is too bad that he feels this way about abortion. My most fundamental belief is 'Harm None', as long as I believe that life begins at conception I cannot see how abortion isn't 'harming' anyone.

Let's be honest November 4th could not possibly come soon enough for many of us. I'm not a young voter, I'm actually in my mid-thirties, and I've gotten so tired of the he said/ she said crap. I've always been interested in politics, well to a certain extent, but this year I'm seriously wondering where Ross Perot is. How many of us would rather even have him? This is one year that a third party candidate would be welcomed, at least that is my belief. Let's hear it, how many people would prefer a '
Ross Perot' this year?
Enough said really. I'm so tired of political ads and rhetoric. I chose my candidate months ago, has anything changed... not really. Everyday I hear the same ol' stuff. Enough already. Yes, McCain is one heartbeat away. Yes, Obama associates with domestic terrorist. We get it. In my opinion America is screwed with either candidate this year. It's a matter of voting for the lesser of two evils. I will still vote, I've voted in every election since 1993 it didn't matter if it was local, state, or federal the right to vote was still exercised. With this election though I say... "Good Luck America"
