Politics

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who has noticed just how diverse this year has become considering elections. To the best of my knowledge, it is only this year that I have seen not only an African-American but a woman as well in the field of elections. I am extremely pleased with the diversity and strengths brought forth to this election with new and different opportunities arising. America is moving even further forward and only good can come out of the diversity in this years election.

Am I the only one that absolutely hates politics? To me, it all seems like a game. It seems to be all about who can persuade the American people the most, since politicians find their ways to deviate from their original promises. If you think about it, the views of the American people may also be reflected in politics.

Take for instance the Bill Clinton scandal with who else but Miss Monica. The nation stood against his scandal and based his effectiveness as a president on his personal affairs. This year, Palin has taken some heat for her seventeen year old daughter's pregnancy out of wedlock, but I haven't heard much about it anymore now. The nation seems to have not only look past the issue, but sympathize with her as well. Now of course adultery and pregnancy of out wedlock are two completely different things; but they do reflect some issues that America seems to feel strongly about, or at least used to.

Are we moving forward in a new direction or are we spinning out of control? Either way, I am truly enjoying what I see and read in our news today. This may be one of the most important and publicized elections to date.
